My 2011 Tahoe LT (Summit White/Black Leather, Luxury Package, Sunroof, Tow Package, 20" Polished Aluminum Wheels) is my (a) first new car, (b) first American car and (c) first SUV. Prior to this I had a toyota corolla as my first car for 2 years and since then 5 BMWs over the past 12 years. All of the BMWs except one were modded.
Let me first say, I absolutely love my Tahoe. I drive it six days a week while my BMW M5 gets enjoyed on Saturdays. It drives great, is comfortable, has EVERY option my BMW has except rain sensing wipers and navigation, is just as good on the highway as it is navigating the horrendous streets in Philadelphia and gets better gas mileage than my M5 (Tahoe gets 15mpg, M5 gets about 12).
I bought my Tahoe in December, new, with my father-in-law's GM Friends and Family Discount. I won't tell you what I paid, but I could probably trade in the truck to a dealer today and get just about all my money back. The truck now has 8,000 miles.
As work has slowed down, I finally had the chance to wash it myself and really clean up the interior and engine bay.
I came in from washing and told my wife, I absolutely love this truck. Best automotive decision I ever made. Anyone that says America doesn't make good automobiles has never tried one.
The only decision to make is whether I get a Suburban when I'm ready to trade it in in 2018. Wouldn't mind getting a Denali XL next time either if they put a "meaner" front end on the next one.
Thanks all for all the knowledge you have provided me on this forum. Mods to come soon...
