My 2004 Tahoe z71 had the headliner replaced before I bought it. The boneheads put one in a headliner WITHOUT the spot for the interior ambient temp sensor for my auto HVAC above the drivers head. I assume the wires are still there, but the unit itself is missing. Any ideas on if I can just cut a hole in the headliner and install a new one? Can anyone send me pics for placement or any other helpful advice? Thanks!

Yours buzzes?? whats that about? I thought that was a mic the whole time. I guess that explains what the black thing is by the rear HVAC controls now.

need to replace it

My system shows 131 degrees all the time and as such I only get heat if I crank the system. The GM dealership said this sensor is not there and needs to be for the system to work properly. I would do it by hand, but it's a pain having to have heat cranked or none at all. I'm trusting that by putting in a new one it won't buzz. Can anyone shoot me a picture of theirs installed so I can see where to put it? Thanks!

it's a small fan, that circulates checking interior temps if you have it on auto ( if I am figuring this correctly)

Kinda like a house AC sensor, reads interior temps and adjust automatically.

2004z71, is your all time automatic?

Blue, yours buzzes? Mine was buzzing for awhile. But it stopped at the beginning of summer. I don't use the auto so I don't really matter to me.
I used to hit mine, haha. To make it stop but it never worked.
