Hi!

I'm new to the board, and I picked up my new to me 95 Tahoe. Its a 4wd, and was priced right at $800. I got it for that because there is a issues with the rear end, I'm thinking spider gear, maybe pinion bearing...I'm just going to replace the center chunk in it tomorrow, and it should be road ready..

Anyone got any good ideas on cleaning that carpet?

I have always loved these truck, and am happy to own the tbi/new interior one...

Here's the new toy...

i took all my carpet out and tried pressure washing it and all the other tricks, but ended up just changing it. by the time you fight all the trim and the seats to get it out to pressure wash it, assuming you don't succeed, you are just better to order some new carpet and start all over. lmc truck has some good carpet if your indian tricks don't work out. have fun whichever way you go man. :)

Welcome to the forums Shawn.
Cleaning the carpets all depends on how bad they are. Try an industrial strength carpet cleaner, which you should be able to find @ most stores.
If that doesn't cut it, you might be better off doing what Branndon did.

1995 Hoe

I just recently bought a 1995 2Dr 4wd Tahoe, in Green, for $800...
My carpets are horrorible also. My brother's good friend owns a detailing shop in Greencastle, IN; near me. He said he could pretty much get it almost perfect with his awsome carpet cleaner for about $50. I'll post before & after pics when it happens. Weather is not permitting right now..
Great buy on the Hoe.

Nice find and good luck with the Tahoe, with the carpets I had the same problem, I picked up a steam cleaner at Target went over the carpets a good 6-8 times then went over it a few times with just water to clean any soap out that was left, let it sit in the sun for a few days then cleaned it up with some carpet cleaner and vacuumed it and it came out pretty good the weather-tech mats I have cover up the bad spots pretty good, I will prolly do new carpets in the future but it looks decent for now

Pics of body rot??

Actually, there is very little...a bit of surface rust on the endgate, around one window about 6 inches, and a couple spots on the roof above the windshield just starting.

The right front fender does need replaced, otherwise, there is nothing out of order.

Shawn

PS, the rear end is being replaced tomorrow as a whole. much easier that way. we had it up in the air today and with the brake held on and in gear, the driveshaft and pinion were spinning away like mad. The outer pinion bearing toasted and destroyed a few things inside.
