I am not pulling the transmission just the motor.Why do you have to unbolt the converter?

You would think. But, strange things happen all the time. And it could just be coincidence that it finally let go after a non-related repair.I remember back in 01 there was a TSB on the oil cooler cracking/leaking. After shut down there would be pressure in the radiator that would push coolant back into the oil. Not real sure how much oil pressure is in the cooler when running? Seems like it would have started leaking way before now though.
I Appreciate the heads up!From personal experience and someone that had an oriellys radiator blow the transmission cooler....that then flooded the transmission with coolant. Use at your own risk. They may have resolved the issue by now as I believe there was a class action suit, but it was a known problem. Our local store even took care of it internally. They provided the new 4l80e and a GM radiator and paid for a local shop to flush the block of the strawberry milkshake, and install the new radiator and trans.
