Hey guys I'm looking for any and all info on what exactly I need to convert from AWD to 2WD...
I have a 2006 chevy suburban LTZ Iv built quite a few bagged vehicles just never an AWD and after reading and looking through trickeds threads it seems to be easier and cheaper to just do away with it

So anyways like I said im just wondering what all we need and if its been done any advice on it would be awesome! We plan on laying it out on 24" or 26" depending on the how much work the fire wall will need to lay out
Thanks guys!!

Transmission, front stub, at least a tune, etc. Save yourself the trouble and buy a 2wd.

I would if my truck wasn't so heavily modded I'm trying to sell it with the empty wall from the subs bc its built like a tank I have welded 1/4" steel plate roof for bracing etc the truck holds a world record but now that I'm getting out of audio I want to have a little fun with the truck if I can't sell it but as I stated I'm looking to see exactly what this ia going to cost me to do the conversion to see if this is even plausible
but thanks man

Thanks for the info! Any idea or part numbers I can look up to find just the rear housing for the trans?? I can only find full 2wd transmission's, and also will the hubs and all that be ok if I just pull the front shafts out or are they load bearing?? Like do I need to find 2wd front components?
Thanks agn guys as I stated any and all info is welcome!!!

2wd front hub assemblys will also be needed.

Thanks man that's what I was figuring on....
No this maybe a stupid question but if I can find a nbs truck or tahoe at a junk yard what all motors use the part off the transmission that I need?? Do the 5.3 and 6.0's use the same trans or atleasr is the tail shaft part off the 2wd interchangeable with mine???

I'm hoping to find a 2wd truck I can just snag it all from front hubs and all

Thanks guys all help is welcome!!

Good luck with that lol over here at the yards everything gets stripped super fast... Is ur engine the 5.3 or the 6.0? I'd say that if u have a 6.0 then get stuff from the 6.0 and 5.3 to 5.3 but ill not completely sure about cross comparability

If you do this, let us know how it goes. I might consider this sometime in the future myself. For me it wouldn't be to go lower, but to lose some weight and gain some better handling.
