I went to pull the interior door handle today to get out of my tahoe, and I heard a snap and the door handle had no more pressure, and the door would not open. I had to resort to rolling the window down and using the exterior handle to let myself out. I took the panel off, and the Door Lock cable that connect to the inside handle snapped. The door handle itself is fine.

Here's my question. When I called the dealer to ask about the part number for a replacement door lock cable, he said that I have to buy the whole door lock motor/door lock actuator assembly with the cable attached to it. The part # is 25811735.

Is is correct that I can't just replace the cable itself, as i have found the cable alone on ebay here, http://www.ebay.com/itm/321069140325?item=321069140325&viewitem=&sspagename=ADME:X:RTQ:MOTORS:1123&vxp=mtr.

If anyone has had to replace this piece, could you please let me know if I can get away with just ordering the cable, or must I get the whole assembly. Cable is around $40, and the whole assembly is $112.

You'll have to disassemble your latch assembly in order to put the cable in. Its do-able, but if you break the latch taking it apart, you'll need a new one anyway. And these are very prone to going bad anyways.
