Earlier, you said you
... just personally don't no too much about cars ...
then said
... sorry if i sounded rude there, I was just so used to that amount of slack i thought it was normal ...
At risk of making you feel even sorrier, but in the best way possible ...
Borgeson, Lee Power Steering, and Turn One come to mind for having reputations that exceed GM OE.
They are capable of rebuilding your steering box.

Do not know how to determine whether your 'production code' is LS, UT, or YK.
Do know that you want 12.7:1 steering box.
The firms mentioned basically take your steering box apart and replace everything they possibly can -
costs extra, but will BLOW YOUR MIND as to how much perspective polluting slop you've gotten used to;
it'll be as close as possible to driving a brand new steering box built in late '03 or early '04.

RockAuto vendors typically go for a 'bang-for-the-buck' approach,
which could leave you in the dubious position of returning what you just ordered and installed
because they missed something you didn't.

Thanks for that I will definitely look into getting it rebuilt because I want it as good as i can get it, is it a huge hazard driving with it like that or is it just not the quality the suv originally came with, because I am gonna be taking a long drive with the suv in the next month or so, if it needs it, I will gladly do it, but if i can just wait till after the drive that would be preferable because money is tight, ill look into pricing for it now

I wonder if the rubber in the left engine mount is gone and maybe the humming is from the engine bearing on the frame? For noises transmitted by the steering column into the cabin and steering wheel I replaced my upper steering shaft with a Borgeson sound insulated one and that stopped a lot of noise on mine.

I’ve never heard of a sound insulated steering shaft- care to elaborate? Also, the engine mounts in these never go bad. Now the 07-14’s; that’s a different story.
