Okay so I just bought my wife a 2007 Yukon SLE. Its in really good condition with 104k miles.
After having it for a few days I felt the rear shocks seam to be weak. The rear of the vehicle bounces much more then the front. And over larger bumps such as an uneven bridge, the rear even feels as though it bottoms out before bouncing badly.

My problem is that I can not find the stock Nivomat style shocks that come with ZW7 suspension any where. I can not even find part numbers to try and cross.

I do not want to have to change the rear springs and convert it to the standard shocks. I just want to replace what it has with the same part.

Can nay one point me to where I can get the stock style Nivomat shocks?

Thank you!

Okay so I found that the KYB SR2003 shock is listed as a direct replacement for the stock ZW7 smooth ride auto level shocks.

But there really expensive! Like $500 each!

Is there any other shocks available that are cheaper? Or a place where I can get these shocks cheaper?

Okay so more research and I have found a part number for the OEM shock.
540-433 is the number I found.
But this seams wrong. There only about 60 each.

Also the KYB part number I listed may not be correct as some sites show that to not fit the 07.

Could really use some help here guys.

So I went to the dealer and found that 540-433 is in fact the correct part number.
And I found them on the internet for $60.00 each shipped. So there on there way.

That's much better then the price I had seen others pay. It looks like GM lowered the price on these. Even at the dealer there only $110 and change each.

Hope this helps some one ells.

I was conflicted on my ZW7 suspension.. I took off a shock and took it up to two dealerships both told me it was a regular shock, both looked at me like i had 3 eyes when I mentions NIVOMAT, both quoted me 100$ each for new ones, but every where I looked and read said it was a self leveling. I ended up chaging the springs and shocks to "normal".

Well the shocks came in.
There much larger then the "Normal" shocks in diameter.
But I ran in to a problem.
One of them seams to be bad.
I was always taught to cycle shocks a few times before installing them. When I did this one shock has no dampening for the first quarter of its travel.

So it looks like I will need to return it and get another shock.
I am also looking at adding a helper air bad kit to the rear for when I tow my car trailer.
And I'm looking at adding a 2" front 1" rear lift kit at the same time.
As well as new front shocks.

What do you guys think?

This place really offers no help on the "ZW7" package. Trust me I know. To be honest. I don't even think they are putting the self leveling shocks on even though. That's supposedly what the premium ride package is. I've looked at 4 different tahoe/yukon all with the same zw7 code in the glove box and all have the same blue shocks. That the dealers claim are $100. As far a not dampening. If you did order self leveling shocks. I've read that it takes a few hundred feet of driving to build up pressure to adjust the ride height. So you may not feel it when cycling by hand. I don't know. What are your fender measure by chance. My truck was sitting at 37" at all corners. So I added a 2" coil spring spacer to the rear to give the factory rake look. My wife told me to leave her truck alone and to "mess mine up" lol so lifting hers is out.

I don't know what my ride height is right now.
I'll try to find out though.

Yeah I'm sure the shock is bad.
I never even mounted them.
It literally has no damping in the first 1/4 of the stroke and then it's like you hit a wall and it's normal for the rest of the stroke.

Still looking for another shock.
I found 540-435 seams to be the same part. But I am not sure.
So I'm still looking for a good 540-433.

Ok so some more info for you guys.

540-433 is the correct ACDelco part number for the rear Nivomat shocks on a Tahoe and Yukon.
540-435 is the correct ACDelco part number for the rear Nivomat shocks on a Suburban and Yukon XL. (1500 chassis)

I have ordered the 540-435 shocks and am going to use them on our Yukon.

From what I was able to find these shocks have all the same specs as the 540-433 shocks except they are slightly stiffer. I will also compare them to the stock shocks before I install them.
This will work out good for us as we will be using this a tow rig often.

I got a new take off set with 35 miles on them for $50 shipped.
If there to stiff Ill pull them off and try something ells.

I ordered a set of Bilstien 5100 front struts to go with them.
Every thing should be here in a few days.
Ill be installing everything around the 27th.

I will get ride height measurements before I install any thing.
I am also lifting the front and rear of the Yukon. Ill get measurements after the lift as well.
I will also get measurements of the rear with just the new shocks installed after a short trip to make sure they don't change the ride height from where it is now.

After I'm done and have had some time to drive it I will post back how every thing worked out.
