So I got a screw in one of the tires in the TBSS. The damn thing is in part of the sidewall, so they can't patch it .

My options are to just buy one tire, or go ahead and buy 4 new ones. I didn't really like the stockers all that much, but being that there is less than 10K on them, just never bothered to get new ones.

The current tires are 250/50/20s, and I would like to go a little wider. I am looking into 275/45/20s for the new ones.

We LOVED the Toyo Proxes S/T on the truck, and would have gone with those, but they are no longer made. The Toyo Proxes IIs are not nearly as cool looking, but will fit the bill. We are looking at the BFGoodrich KDWs as well.

So the two we are looking at:

Toyo Proxes II
BF Goodrich KDWs

Anyone have any experience with any of the above?? Any other suggestions?

Can't go wrong with either one, but IMO BFG KDWs. Good performance and the tread pattern is cool. Now that you are in So Cal, you do not have to worry about snow!

P255/50R20 Goodyear Eagles work if my google-education is right

We have the Eagles on there now, they are the stockers, not too impressed.

Kinda what I was thinking, but I am worried about the wear.

I ran Yokohama prada Spec X stock size on my 06 TBSS and really liked them. They hooked so much better than the stock Goodyears. The wet traction was night and day as well. I ran them year round in Ohio weather and never had an issue. When I sold the SS they had 20,000 miles on them and still looked like new.

I was looking at the Yokohamas, but didn't know much about them. Good to hear a review on them!

I'm running Yokohama Parada Spec X 295.35.24's and considering the sidewall and the 3-5 drop, they ride exceptionally smooth. I will go with these again for sure.. Can't go wrong with the KDW's either..

I can't contribute experience to either of those tires, but pay attention to the patterns on the sides - you don't want one too busy bc that means more tire noise.

Yeah, the KDWs have no markings on the sidewall:

The Toyo Proxes S/T IIs are pretty smooth as well:
