Thinking about taking the moldings off my truck. My only concern is how the paint is going to be underneath (maybe some detailers can chime in and help me with that). I enjoyed the look of my Tahoes without them (NBS and NNBS) but can't decide on the truck. future plans for the truck are to be at 5/7 drop and on chrome 24s of some sort.

Any and all suggestions welcome.
Thanks guys!!

P.s. Check sig pic for truck

Off, cross your fingers on the paint!

**EDIT**
Being an 2012 I would think it should be ok.

When you take them off it may appear discolored for a little while. After removing them and cleaning off whatever residue is left either using a buffing wheel or a microfiber cloth go after the areas with some maguire scratch x. Apply the compound atleast 4 inches so (approx) above and below the area as you go. Afterwards go around the truck with a good handwax. Appears like you keep the truck pretty clean so im geussing a waxing was on the plans anyway. Ive done this on several vehicles in the past. Main reason is underneath the molding is good paint but its never been cleaned buffed or waxed like the rest of the paint. So your going to want to do some extra effort to bring the luster back out.

Take em' off. It should be just fine underneath since it is a relatively new vehicle. I bet its clean underneath and you will just have throw some wax on it and call it a day.
