Ok. Here's the low down. I am now living with my wife about 25 minutes from work. Normally I lived about 5 minutes from work and most of the time i walked to work and only drove on the weekends and to class. It might just be me but then again I don't remember my MPG and fuel consumting being so horrible as it has been lately.

What I have installed and done: K&N Filter and Intake Smooth Metal Tube, Poweraid Throtle Body Spacer, MSD Blaster Ignition Coils, E3 Spark Plugs, Gibson Exhaust Manifolds, Flowmaster Muffler, BullyDog Triple Dog Tuner.

Now it might just be me or the increasing gas prices but it seems like every performance part i put on that supposed to increase fuel efficiency only makes the gas needle fall just a little bit faster. The only thing I can think of is that possibly i have a fuel leak somewhere thats letting out gas, but so far there is no gas smell coming out running or not.

My question: Is there anything else that I can check or do to get back the original perceived MPG or is it just me being crazy because of the increase in prices. BTW my bully dog grade is never below a B+ so its not my driving.

I get 9-10 in city but live 1.5 miles from work and do mostly stop and go driving. I get 16-18 on the highway so it tends to avg around 12-13.

Not always, they can go pretty far before throwing a code. Full synthetics all the way around, run the max air pressure in the tires (although this will also tend to cause premature wear to the center of the tread), keep filters replaced and if not a cold air intake and aftermarket filter like a K&N, make sure your suspension and steering are in tip top shape and well greased, keep throttle body clean and plugs up to date. Fuel only when it is the coolest temperature possible outside and fuel slowly. If you fuel when it is cooler, the fuel molecules are actually a bit smaller so you can get more in a tank and if you fuel fast, there is a "Return" on the fuel line that will allow fuel vapors to escape the tank and circulate back to the station storage tank. Light on the throttle and learn to "coast" and allow momentum to carry you most places and you MIGHT see an overall average of 17-18.

In the end, you have to ask yourself, is it worth it to spend that kind of money, and the answer depends on whether you are as addicted to upgrading and maintaining your rides like most of us and mileage is truly secondary. In the end you will spend more money on upgrades than you will probably ever get back in fuel economy savings....
