I would love for any advice and links to pages where I can find torque specs for rebuilding my 246-GM transfer case.

It's only a bearing and seals rebuild until the money is right for another one so I am looking for any torque specs for all bolts anything else that comes to mind with you guys.

Tips and tricks, do's and DON'TS and stuff like that. I have 3 days to get this sucker rebuilt and in the truck before I have to relocate 3 hours away for a job.

I have "exploded" diagrams and plan to just reverse ingeneer everything so I am soaking all re-usable parts overnight in a degreaser and will flush and lube them tomorrow. Do I need a special oil like one would use rebuilding an engine?

Thanks for any advice and I'll let you know how things are coming along and if I need anything further..

Tcase is totally broken down and ready for re-assembly. It was rather easy to dis-assemble and should be fairly straight forward putting it back together.

Here is a question for you:

Am i doing myself a disservice by not replacing the clutch plates while I have it town down? There only around $47 and I wasn't planning on replacing them but now I am second guessing myself..

Can't hurt to replace them, but if the case shifted smoothly before at speed, I don't really see the need to. And if you're going to be replacing or rebuilding it more thoroughly later, I wouldn't bother.
