I've been using the factory unit for years, and finally accepted that an aftermarket upgrade was in order. My first thought was practicality. I just wanted something with a usb and aux input. After looking at prices I've decided that if I'm going to invest money in the sound system I should do it the right way. If I consider the 6 disk cd changer there is really a ton of space to play with. I've been on crutchfield.com looking at some stuff, and I've also browsed a few of the builds on here.

Anyway, please point me in the direction of cool builds, or just post some suggestions on here!

Thanks.

I just want the HU. I'm not opposed to upgrading the whole system at some point, but I'm going at this project one thing at a time.

I had a 'connection' who was going to put in the Pioneer 4300 BT and set up the sat. radio for about $540. Unfortunately he seems like he's not gonna come through since he hasn't answered my last two calls.

I've all but decided I want a double din HU. Problem is, as you all know, that's gonna require some custom work to make that fit in my 01 Yukon Denali.

I'm pretty sold on the Pioneer 4300 BT (not sure if that's the EXACT model name). However, I'm definitely open to suggestions. I was initially considering throwing down about $1k at my local Best Buy. After talking to the guy who WAS gonna hook me up for about $540, I'm not even confident in their abilities any more. They were either ripping me off or unskilled in their craft.

Does anyone have any info on pricing for a custom install like this? I want to equip the HU with sat. radio, and also make sure the steering wheel controls will still work.

personally i'm a fan of alpine after having tried every major brand out there and their top of the line units at that.
