Hello, our 2015 Escalade has been having intermittent issues. It appears that at some point while it’s sitting in the garage it runs out of juice and resets the clock and everything. It also will occasionally not start, and it looks like it’s not getting enough power. It will start fine after it sits a few minutes. The battery is newer. Based on my research I’m thinking about replacing the negative battery cable. Anyone else think this is the best next step? How difficult is the job? I haven’t had the vehicle very long, and I’m not sure I want to touch it mechanically. Things are a lot less complicated on my 06 Tahoe. Thanks!

replacing the ground wire is not hard to do, just takes basic tools and a brain. if you look with a flashlight in the engine compartment and follow the wires you can see exactly where it goes. not saying you do not have a brain,,,, lol just look in there and you will see, I recomend doing it in the morning or anytime before the vehicle has been driven because stuff gets really hot in there.

If you are going to replace battery cables, I recommend replacing both. These cables are known to corrode from the inside out, thus looking good upon visual inspection, but having an increasingly higher internal resistance.
