I have a 2003 yukon and I just installed a new battery and alternator. I go to crank it over and nothing happens? The battery has good voltage and no blown fuses, the dash lights come on as normal.
The security lock lights up and goes out and when I turn the key to start, nothing happens. My wife did run it our of gas and It had to be towed home. I put 3 gallons in the tank installed a new alternator and battery....and now this issue???:fca5278d::fca5278d::fca5278d:

Disconnect your negative terminal for about 30 seconds. Check your starter and ignition fuse. You shouldn't have an issue with the security system as plenty of us have installed amps and subs, and disconnected the battery. Ensure your terminals are tight. Just trying not to skip the simple stuff.

Also think you need more gas. I think 4 gallons are reserve so 5 gallons would be ideal. I put 6 on mine to Turn it on.

Antonio.

even if the fuel pump died it would still crank over....when you click to ignite the beast it does nothing ...with a volt meter on the battery when we try to start it...the volts only drop by like a 1/1o th of a volt...no clicking nothing. But the dash lights up as normal.

The wife ran the truck out of gas.....so I had to get it towed home ( flatbed) as the battery failed the same time she ran it out of gas....Told her not to drive but you know women...they never listen!!! So I took the alternator and the battery into the local supply house and they tested them both and said they were bad ( original battery) and the truck only has like 64 k on it.....

I didn't realize that that you had already diagnosed with a volt meter. I would look into the starter next, check connections, replace it.

have someone help and check voltage at the starter solenoid. see if power transfers when the key is turned to start. if so, starter is bad. if not, solenoid is bad.

Just an update.....The fuel pump failed....but the reason it would not crank over is because the CPU fuse blew .......
