New AudioQue Stuff a Comin!

As I mentioned in a previous post, My tahoe came with some Kicker speakers in place of the factory BOSE speakers. i personally am not a kicker fan, and these sound like ass... I am however an AudioQue fan. Ive had there HDC 12's in 3 prior vehicles, and now they are in the Hoe. i pulled the trigger on their Pro Series Tweeders (2) and thier Pro Series 6 3/4 (4). Picked up a Hifonics (only amps I run now) Zues 1000x4 4 Channel to push them. Will upload pics when everything arrives and do a review once installed. Im SUPER happy lol. Im pretty picky with my tunes and cannot wait for the set up. Links below!

Sweet! What are your plans for crossovers? Also why not run their amps as well?

Im not sure about crossovers.

I use the Hifonics amps because they are CEA compliant, and I have NEVER had ANY issues out the two I have used. I had thier 3500RMS Colossus (yeah it put out 3700 watts true RMS) hooked up to 4 10s in my dirty max, and Ive had the same 1200 mono Brutus for about 4 years now. They are alot cheaper as far as price than the AudioQue amps. So im just going with what I know lol.

When you say " Crossovers", Im a bit in the dark about what you mean? The tweeders I assumed would just replace the BOSE ones and the 6 3/4 Co Axials would just go in the doors? I LOVE my music with a passion. I know what speakers and subs my ears like. As far as installing any of it or tech beyond peak/rms... Im in the dark lol.

Ahhh I did some looking. A "crossover" is always what I have reffered to as an "Equalizer" lol. I guess my tech lingo is a bit lacking. I have an Clarion MCD360 that I bought when I ran the Subs in my mustang with some JL speakers, that I paid way to much for, and was totally let down with.

Yeah that clarion should do what you need. Check with soundquebed on what their recommended crossover points are and that should give you a good start on tuning. From there you can tweak it by ear.

I'm not hating on hifonics, I have used plenty of their amps in the past. I have heard the difference first hand though between say a Rockford and a hifonics amp on the same subs and there is definitely a difference in sound quality. I'm contemplating soundquebed or obsidian for my next subs... And a T1500.1 Rockford most likely. However I'm interested in soundquebed amps for a nice budget friendly amp... Also thinking about 6 cheap powerbass 12's... Too many ideas and too little money lol

Hmmmmm..... Now I'm curious about that lol. Im gonna see which of my friends have amps that are comparable as far as output, and switch them around just as a little test. As far as subs.... Im really picky about my tunes, more so than most. But im also very selective about my music. Im a huge TOOL, A perfect Circle, Deftones etc etc fan. So it was hard to find 12s that would really keep up. Ive had LOTS of subs in 10 and 12. In the Dmax i Started out with two Blaupunkt Velocities, then added two Type R's. The R's for SQ and the Blau's for Volume. I was pretty unimpressed with the Alpines. I even just ran them alone for a bit, and was even less impressed. Ive ran some so called "high end" BOSS subs, just to try them, junk IMO. Kickers are a joke for SQ IMO. Ummm, I did have some old Performance Technique Subs (10s), that I absolutely ADORED. Man, for whatever reason those and some Rammstein were like an Audio HEAVEN. I destroyed 2 Sony Xplode amps (will never buy again), Went through 1 Cheaper Kenwood that sounded semi Decent, then I got an old Pyle amp and kept that setup for a couple years. I had some Pioneer 10s in my SCSB and they actually did really well. Paired those with an Alpine amp. In the G8, factory equipment, deck and speakers, is Blaupunkt and they did a nice job. But these two AudioQue's hands down sound better IMO than anything else I've had. Again that's just to my ears, and to my preference in music. So I'm sticking with them. But yeah, I'm really curious what a different amp may or may not do for them... Definitely gonna try some stuff out.

It's also going to depend whether or not your pushing the amp to its limits as well. At half volume was only a little noticeable, however at full tilt its very noticeable. To this day my favorite amp is the JL 1000/1 . However just don't have the funds for those anymore, can't justify it lol. I'm running a RE sex10 on a jbl600.1 and I'm pretty happy with it as far as sq/spl combo for the first year it constantly surprised me that it was just a single 600 rms 10 lol... Which hdc's do you have?

Holy Poo Balls Batman... Those things are like 800-1000 lol.
I cant imagine the sound quality of that amp being almost 4x better than the Hifonics, but it sure costs 4x more lol. Maybe Im wrong, its certainly got me curios.

Well believe me I am no JL fan boy but a 10w7 on a 1000/1 is ******* amazing all around... My buddy has that setup, we built a box for under the seat of his 10' CC silverado.

That being said I do miss my 2 15's doing 148.6 in my old Sierra... Loved it... And I'm getting that itch to go loud again. So I'm contemplating selling my custom console and buying some new subs... We shall see lol I have this itch for 2 18's... Lol unfortunately my wallet can't support that.

Hit up a local audio shop and have them db your setup. I'm curious to what it does. It won't be dead on accurate but close. Mine was via term lab at some bass comps.

Also what is your box setup?

I have a ported box that ive had for all of 1 week at the moment. I hate it, I was talked into the box. On its way to my house (hopefully tomorrow), is a sealed and rhino lined ProBox. Pure Energy in Lufkin, TX is where I take pretty much everything. Once I swap out the box and get everything in there, Ill have Lance DB it. Im curious myself what it puts out lol.

I think I offered to buy that console or pay you to make me one....So basically I have DIBS if you sell it lol.

Hmm I'm curious as to how those subs will like being sealed...
Yeah let me know your results when you finally meter it.

As for the console if I decide to sell it I'll let you know first.
