I just got a P0453 code ,something about evap. emission ctrl. sys. pressure sensor Hi input. Any body with any thoughts or cures. Thanks. 2000 Tahoe LT 5.3 4wd.

Google is your friend when it comes to codes man. Guesse would be a problem with fuel pump, but keep looking.

i posted this in another thread you started, i'll post again. That chart mudbuddy posted is perfect to get you going for diagnosing this problem. My issue was the fuel tank pressure sensor on top of the fuel pump. You can test it with a meter if u can get up under the truck. Mines lifted so i can cram my skinny a$$ under there. What you do is this....Unplug the sensor and the connector will have 3 wires....the gray wire is a reference wire from the computer. It always has a reference voltage of 5v. Take a meter lead to the gray wire pin, and take the other lead to ground. You should have 5 volts. if you don't, replace that sensor. this code can also be thrown by a vac leak. Try tightening your fuel cap or try a new one. Also the canister can leak and cause it. check all your lines for the evap system around the canister and fuel tank. the dealer can determine if its a leak also by doing a smoke test....basically they hookup a machinethatsens smokethroughthe system and where the smoke comes out, there is your leak. But test the sensor and check the obvious hoses and what not yourself before going to the dealer and paying for the test...also the truck will run fine but will not pass emissions
