Hi everybody,

I contacted a box to reprogram my Tahoe for the E85. They advise me to change my fuel pump because it has more than 125 000 miles. Why not, after all that can not hurt.

Has anyone ever changed the pump? is it complicated? I have already studied the subject but for my ZJ. Moreover, on Rockauto, there is a lot of pump but often notified: "except export" or "with code module TDB". What will be the difference with US pumps ?

My RPO code is K53

Just changed my pump like two weekends ago. I had the tank down to fix an EVAP issue, figured I might as well changed the pump (180k on it).

Not too hard, I did it on ramps in the driveway by myself. Get the tank as low on fuel as you can. Only tough thing is unhooking all those stupid "quick connects" that are not quick disconnects. But not too bad.

Thanks for your return.

I still break my head to know which pump to take. On rockauto there are a lot of specifications, as explained above, but at Summit, they do not talk RPO K53 or "except export" ...

What is K53? So you're Tahoe did not originally come with the Flex Fuel capability right? The original motor would be an LM7 and the Flex Fuel motor was L59. Are you also changing the injectors?

You will need the pump for Flex Fuel.

However, there are more differences than just programming for e85. It is a different pump, the entire fuel rail (and injectors), fuel line martial, and maybe more for an e85 truck.

For the injectors it's ok. The company recommends changing the fuel pump as a precaution. They specialize in engine optimization (especially French, German and Japanese) and also E85.

Virtually all Americans here work or E85 or LPG because of the price of gasoline. And besides, we are exempt from taxes with these fuels.

The code RPO K53 is Robust fuel system

What interests me is that there is a mention "Except export model". Would there be a difference between a pump from a Tahoe US and a European Tahoe ...:think:

Good luck. I just got the exact replacement ac Delco pump. Even buying the same account Delco part number, the pump was slightly different, as it appears they revised it. The float was slightly different on the new one.
