We just picked up a 2011 Denali which will replace the 03 Avalanche Z71. The Avalanche needs some minor fixes and then I will do a private sale on it. We were looking at Tahoes and Yukons as we wanted a 3rd row seat for the next truck. Then I came across the Denali we ended up getting. Since we tow a camper it is nice that it has the brake controller built in, no more stupid box to hit my shin on. It already has the Aux Transmission Cooler then there is the added power and towing capacity of the 6.2. Our current camper is a little over 5K but we have been looking at new ones which will add more weight. I wanted to avoid the 07-08 6.2s as I had read about the cam bearing issues so the 2011 really met all the needs. The same range of Tahoes/Yukons with the 5.3 had me a little concerned with oil consumption issues. While we spent a little more on it than we would have on a Tahoe or Yukon. I don't have to mess with adding things which is really nice. It might burn a little more fuel but it will be the wife's daily driver as she works just a few miles away in town. I will use the Jetta TDI on my 28 miles (each way) commute. Though I will steal the Denali from time to time...
