Just got new drums and shoes installed on my 1999 Denali and they make a horrible screeching noise now. I took my truck to a different mechanic and had him check them out after he rechecked them and couldn't find any problems and the other mechanic said they look perfect and doesn't think there's anything wrong. What would cause them to make such a bad noise? They also feel like they shudder when rolling to a stop. Somebody help me on this, it's driving me nuts.

They could miss it if they are the type of tech that doesn't bother putting anti seize on there in the first place!
But it's hard to tell without hearing he sound in person.

I'll record a clip today, it's an ear piercing screech

I forgot to add, the brakes don't start making noise until about 5-10 minutes into driving. It's probably just heat I'm guessing.

did you resurface your drums? better yet are you sure those are not the fronts rubbing the wear indicator. It sounds like something out of round.

Drums got replaced with the shoes, I'm positive it's not coming from the front.

Like I said I feel a shudder when rolling to a stop and it's definitely coming from the back the shudder will happen right as the car stops and last for 1 second at most.

I can only guess then that perhaps the linings are contaminated from grease or brake fluid perhaps or your drums did not fully seated against the axle flange. You are probably going to want to take the drums off to see what is happening.
