Hello,

I am new to this forum and recently purchased a used Tahoe, 2009 LT 4wd with the 5.3.

I want to try to maximize the efficiency and performance of the engine. What are the best steps to do?

SW CT,
Save your money and do a Magnuson supercharger + BlackBear tune = best combination for maximum efficiency and performance.

Thank-you

I'll look into the supercharger. Is there anything special that needs to be done with the intake, engine, transmission, and exhaust for this?

What about CAI? I have read that these are not much good unless you are WOT, which I normally would not be, and it can corrode the air intake sensor from the oils that are on the filter.

What about exhaust, too? I am not looking to get a louder sound.

What brands of CAI with a dry filter are recommended by this forum?

Is a cat back necessary/recommended, too, or will that cause too much loss in back-pressure?

The supercharger is nice, but too cost prohibitive. What would the supercharger buy me? what gains?

A lot of people here use the Airaid Jr. kit, I'm ordering one now so I can't tell you any results.

^^^Ditto. Best bang for your buck. You can spend twice as much for 1-2 extra HP if you want.
