New to forum with no power steerng

Hopefully someone can help.Im new to the forum an i just recently bought a 98 tahoe an the other day i lost all my power steering.I replaced the pump an still nothing,not sure what to try now.

you '98 has a variable effort steering system. as you replaced the pump and assuming no internal seals of the gears have broken(unlikely) you may consider taking it to a shop that has the equivalent of a gm tec2 scanner to scan for codes in the steering system computer module(not pcm) for error codes. or if you just want to throw some parts at it you could try replacing the electrical flow control valve that is attached to the power steering pump.

Any other symptoms? tires inflated completely? all fuses good?

Thanks alot for replying.After a few hours of looking an at different threads i went over everything then jacked up the front wheels an like a switch it started working.I think maybe i had a clog in the lines from all the old fluid.

I have a problem when the truck is cold the power steering works beautifully but when it warms up or is hot the power steering only works if rev'd up to about 1000 rpms and still whines. Anyone got any ideas on why?

bad pressure regulation internally. that and whining suggests a replacement is required. the pump just is most likely really weak in strength now.

Mine whines... good thing they are only $54
