Hello all, For years I've been interested in getting a Tahoe and the other day I finally made the jump. Found an '09 LT 2WD in immaculate shape that was too good to pass up. Has 87k miles on the clock, local one owner car, all service records. Drives great and while it is a little lower on options (it's an XFE without sunroof or nav, but does have leather and wood grain), I'm figuring it's less to go wrong later. Black w/ tan leather interior - I traded from an Armada and the ride is worlds different.

I'm a huge car guy and have often found forums like these are worth their weight in gold, so I wanted to sign up, introduce myself and become a part of the group.

I've already perused your site and made a lot of mental notes, but anything else you'd like to tell me (trouble areas, things to look for, mods I should consider, etc) I'd love to hear them.

So far, I'm planning on adding remote start (I do have the AP8 code), LED interior lighting, I'd like to step up to the 20" LTZ wheels and I'm thinking about getting it tuned. I don't plan on driving it many miles though (short commute) and it will be used to haul my boat short distances as well, so I don't even know if a tune makes sense for me. But, I digress... Hello all, glad to be here and I'm all ears. Thanks!

Welcome!

A tune is personal preference. Depending on how big our boat is, it might help. If you decide to have the AFM disabled, you will have to get it done aftermarket and might as well get a tune then. Remember that it isn't a Duramax, and you wont have too many issues towing.

From what I have seen reading around, most if not all of the common issues are covered here. I've heard that some dealers will still help with replacement of peeling chrome interior door handles.

Thanks for the reply. As far as the AFM, I'm not sure of its been disabled yet or not, but if it's not I want it done asap. I've only put ~20 miles or so on it this weekend, not really enough to notice it. My boat is a 20' Scout Center Console. Weighs about 3500 lbs and I can't foresee the Tahoe having any issues with that. I live in the Charleston area and it's very flat; very little in the way of elevation to have to pull it over, when I do tow it.

Thanks again guys - glad to be here and I'm all ears, should anyone think of anything. If any of you guys know of a tuner in this area, I'd love to know of one.
