Nice website here! I was searching a few things and ended up here. Lots of good info.
I just bought an '05 Yukon XL. Sold my '01 Tahoe. The Tahoe was one of the best vehicles I ever owned. I had it for 8 years...bought it with 30K and sold it at 245K. Still had the original transmission in it. Towed for at least 20k+ miles throughout those years. We needed a 3rd row because of the 3 boys we have plus needed something to tow with...the Suburban/Yukon was and obvious choice due to the room and my previous experience with the line.
We tow a boat and my car. The Tahoe towed both excellent. I expect the Yukon will be just as good if not better because of the longer wheel base.
I've become such a fan of the 5.3, I even put one in my race car (Buick turbo T, like a Grand National but not black.) lol. It originally had a turbo v6 (buick grand national.) A friend offered my good money for the drivetrain. I had a car with no drivetrain sitting in the garage, so I am trying something different. It ran 9.6's in the 1/4 with the v6, I expect ot go faster with the turbo 5.3 when I get done.
Here are some pics of the new ride, the old ride and the turbo 5.3 car.
