Or should I get a short hitch extension? I’m not worried about the weight, it’s around 4000 pounds max. I’ll be picking up the trailer this week. Probably a dumb question, but thanks for any help

Only dumb question is the question not asked. :)

My Tahoe tows my Casita trailer with a manual jack with no problem. I have a six inch drop drawbar. The liftgate has plenty of clearance with the Casita jack. The Casita has a hi-Lift suspension with 205/R15 tires. I replaced the 2 1/2 inch drop drawbar because the Casita was towing with the nose above level. The third picture is with the 2 1/2 inch drawbar. As depicted, I tow with the jack handle folded over to the rear of the jack.

Happy camping.

I have towed a variety of trailers with several lift gate SUVs and have not encountered a clearance problem with a jack yet.
