Hello everybody,
new to this forum and it seems the right place for me. I drive 2 Tahoes, 07 and 08. Very happy with both of them
BUT: since last week the remote engine start doesn't work any more on one of them.
All key functions do work.
The engine doesn't crank, when I push the key button the truck gives me
signal but does not crank.
Is this a known problem? Went through the dealer recalls but didn't find this specific problem.
Have no acces to a dealership as I live in Dominican Republic.
Thanks for your help.

Well more than likely your check engine light is on for some reason. Start the Tahoe and look to see if the check engine light in the dash is on. If so, that's your problem. Find out what's wrong with your engine and the light will turn off. And then your remote start will begin to work again!

Mmm ... the only time my remote start won't work is if the truck is low on gas. I always assumed this is on purpose so as not to waste fuel.

If that's not the reason yours isn't starting up, you might want to give GM customer service in the US a call or send them an email ... I've always had good experiences dealing with them.

Sounds like an issue with your BCM and security features. Do you have an aftermarket alarm? Check fuses.

Modded is right, there may be a problem the computer has noticed. I just tried starting my truck today with no avail because of the P0449 purge solenoid problem. If you don't have a CEL then you battery in the remote may have come loose. Open it up and take a look. The 3 pronged clip that holds the battery in place may need to be resoldered.
