night shade tail lights

i tinted my 13 year old tail lights with vht nightshade and they looked great until they dried and there is a million cracks all over from the paint. anyone have this problem and is there any solution for it?

Did you scuff it all up and clean real good? Might be you just put too thick and times between coats. Did you clear it after you sprayed vht?
Did you hang or lay down?

When it cracks like that during the drying process, it's usually because the surface wasn't prepped properly and it isn't adhering, and/or it was applied too thick.

Scuff the lens lightly before starting. Then use multiple light coats, letting each one dry before applying the next. With the last coat, use a good UV resistant clearcoat then polish it to get a nice shiny finish. A UV clearcoat will help keep it from fading later down the road.

yeah i had my buddy do it who night shades lights all the time and we scuffed it and windexed the whole thing spotless then sprayed it on waited 5 minutes then sprayed it on again and repeated the process. it looked fine until it completely dried mine look so awful. any ideas on how to fix it, i dont mind adding more i dont want to have to remove all the paint and do it over again

maybe it was the windex? i used dawn soap to do it. my spidered a liittle on the 2nd one but i sprayed too much and didnt wait long enough between coats. when i cleared, the night was still too wet because of the excess and thats when it cracked. can remove by using some easy off oven cleaner (blue lid).

Pretty sure it aasnt prepped right. Get it off and try again but prep it good
