Nite shade question

So i'm getting ready to nite shade my tail lights and had a question. My wife seems to think that you need to do the inside to keep the glossy effect on the tail lights, i'm planning on doing the outside with 1 or 2 coats and i bought some clear coat. Which is the better choice, i really hate baking headlights and im pretty sure i'd hate doing taillights. Any other tips on this project?

Clearcoat and you'll be fine.

Just did my second set.

2 light coats, dry time in between, then clear cote.

When dry after a few days use some finish cut polish on them,

They turn out nice.

JK. I think it is cool that she is involved in mods. Only thing my wife knows how to do is take nice cars through TOUCH car washes, so that I can spend more time practicing with my polisher!

sooo it looks like some dust or something settled on the tail after i wiped em down with rubbing alcohol, didn't see it till after the second coat. after i spray em with clear coat will that go away? if i need to redo them do i use paint thinner to remove the shaide?

My first coat on mine was ****** to so i went and got really fine grit sand paper like what you would use to do a wet sand. they look like little bumps mine did the same thing but sand them away and just rough them up a lil and spray again but the clear coat will make them shine.

i was gonna nite-shades my old 2-door tahoe, but i had a buddy that is a painter and he just got some clear coat and dropped a couple drops on black in it and shot it...looked damn good! I love smoked tail lights! cant wait to do mine again!
