I have a 2016 4x4 Yukon Denali with a leveling kit on it and have run 305/55R20 Trail Grappler MT's on it
since Day 1, but I am looking to replace them with 285/60R20 Ridge Grapplers this time around. OEM 20"
size was 275/55R20, so I'm pretty sure the 285/60R20 should work just fine.
To date, the only rubbing we've had with the 305/55R20 is at full lock when the sidewall tread lugs rub on the sway bar. I'm hopeful the 285/60 will help with that some(.67" narrower).

The wife isn't sure about going narrower, but I told her it will look better since it will be about 1/2" taller (.47" in Dia. taller than 305/55). She didn't want to go shorter either, so that ruled out 295/55R20(32.76" tall) size.

QUESTION:
Does anyone run 285/60R20 tires on their Yukon/Tahoe? Any pics from the side?
Would like to hear feedback on running this size as well.

Here is a pic of ours with the 305/55 setup when new.

Do you have any pics with the 285/60’s? I am torn between 305/55’s or 285’s on my 19 tahoe. I am going to order the 5660 reps in hyper silver and was looking at either size in a toyo at

Here’s one taken right after they were installed. Still have slip tack splattered on the edge. They are MUCH better ride with more sidewall and E rated instead of F rating on the 305/55. No rubbing issues so far and wife is happy as a clam. 2-3 lbs less rotational wt per corner as well.

Love the Nittos! My wife got 48,200 miles off the previous set of Trail Grapplers(MT)....and she drives it like a bat outta hell a lot of the time.

that looks pretty good! without looking hard there isn’t a lot of difference in the two. I think you just helped make my mind up. i have been looking at all different sizes and think i find one i like and then look at a different.

How is the noise with the ridge graps? I prefer nitto over toyo when it comes to mt’s, but haven’t personally ran the nitto at’s to know.

You don’t hear the Ridge Grapplers at all. They were designed to be the quietest AT out there. They work awesome in Mud, Snow, Sand, etc. on my Raptor. Love ‘em!
The 285/60 fits better than the 305/55 because it is narrower and doesn’t rub the sway bar at full lock.

@jackedupZ71 - status update on the tire choice? Pictures? I went with the Nitto Ridge Grapplers in 275/60/20 on my Tahoe with a 2" level. LOVE THEM! Perform great for my DD and did well off road this summer & fall - looking forward to testing them in Maine winter

I ended up going with Toyo At’s. I really wanted to try the Ridge Grapplers, and honestly wish i would have, but got a hell of a deal on these so I couldn’t pass it up. I went with 285/60’s. Here is a pic she took of it right after getting them put on.
