Surprised at seeing this under my '07 Tahoe, 3rd row out and nothing in rear. These are the 5305 Belltech springs. Got helper bags to smooth out ride and make usable again. Is this what everyone else is doing?

Are those lower coils touching each other? Do you have any pics of this spring in a non- compressed state/pre-installation?

That's what those coils do. I think NorcalSS has some pics of this on multiple trucks. Anyone who tows/hauls eventually adds those helper bags. You are on par with the other owners.

@iwaslower, yes they are touching. I dont have uninstalled pics. I've been around lowering products for over 20yrs and never seen this. Been on truck about 2 months. @houstone003, Not looking to go lower, been there. @GWEE, you are correct

Alex33, I'm just surprised at this cause as i'm sure you know how a spring works. Just figured Belltech would make a better spring. I did a search before buying but didnt see pics...

That is perfectly normal lowexpo.
1. They are closely progressive wound coils on a heavy SUV. That's why they touch.
2. There is a 1" spacer installed which is making them touch more than they would w/o it.
3. They are installed wrong. The closer wound side goes up.

Modded is right.

They are UPSIDE Down for one. You do have a spacer too.

I just did the 2 inch rear only on my Suburban. My coils just barely touch, no spacer.

I wish there was another design.....because it just looks wrong IMHO. Defeats the purpose of a "progressive coil" to me.

The Belltechs seem soft to me, so I just ordered Airlift 1000s part number 60742. It is a 4.9 inch wide by 6 inch tall bag.

The one thing people lowering don't realize is that it will sag and or bottom out when fully loaded. I just hauled 5 people plus a piece of luggage for everyone and my Suburban was rubbing the 275 20's in the back.

It looks darn good, hopefully the bags with bring back my full hauling capacity.

@Lowexpo.......... Do yo have the bags in already, post pics. What model.

Dang, beaten to the punch (so to speak). Anyway, I hope these guys were able to assist you lowexpo. I was searching the forum for some pics to help you out but my slow connection drug out that process.

Now that you have this new info, hopefully you can get it corrected with minimal inconvenience.
