Hey guys, been a while since I have been around these parts, I come with a question.

My brake lights have decided to quit working! They seem to have been working fine this past Friday but was made aware of the issue yesterday by another driver. Did not drive it over the weekend.

Fuses are not blown. Parking lamps are working. Turn signals are working. Hazards are working. Back-up lights are working.

Left, right or third brake light are not working. Brake light switch?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

1995 Tahoe 4DR 4WD
Running aftermarket LED taillights.

I would think your on the right track.
Did you check the big fuses? If I remember correctly a friend had a 95 Silverado. One of his big fuses blew and caused the brake lights to now work.
If your missing all 3 the CHMSL (center high mount stop light) is run a little differently due to turn signals on the rear.
It would point you towards the stop light switch.

From my reading the Tahoe/Yukon does not have the big fuse like the Silverado/Sierra. I looked in the fuse box under the hood and found nothing.

I'm currently trying to replace the stop light switch but can't get the damn retainer clip off. **** you GM and your coked out engineers for this ****** design!

It was the brake light switch as we all suspected.

That retainer clip is a PITA to get off; otherwise this would have been a clean and easy install.

I had to drop my steering column off to replace my brake switch, cause my harness was burnt out. I replaced both the harness and switch and fixed my lights and cruise at the same time.
