What's up everyone newbie here and happy new year!

So my brother is having an issue with his Tahoe. Drove to the mall, shopped, attempted to leave, and the truck wouldn't start. I have done as much trouble shooting as possible and ultimately the truck has plenty of spark but no fuel.

Fuel pump relay does not click with ignition on after repeated attempts and even swapping out know good relays to no avail. However, if I apply direct power/ground to the relay it clicks just fine. Checked relay slot 86 for ground, got ground. Checked slot 85 for 12v ignition on, got it also but when I put the relay back in it still doesn't click.

So I tried applying 12v directly to slot 87 to prime the fuel pump and even that doesn't get me fuel. Now I'm thinking bad fuel pump or wiring leading to it but I'm still boggled about non of the relays I tried clicks with ignition on.

Please help!!

2001 Tahoe 5.3 160k Zero Mods. Even replaced ignition switch because we had a new one on hand just because. No security lights on the dash. CEL is on but u do not have a scanner at the moment.

I'd say you are correct with the pin 87 diagnostic. If you applied 12v to that pin that should have powered the pump.

Have you tried banging on the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber mallet while someone else is cranking the engine? Usually if the pump is not totally frozen the banging on the tank will free the pump up and the truck will start.
