Cruise control doesn't seem to be working at all on my 04 tahoe lt.

Hooked up a code scanner, since sometimes cruise won't work if there is a code error, and all it came back with was the Malfunction Indicator Lamp was off, which I guess means there are no codes.

Only thing I've done recently was added the lights in the footwells by tapping into the dome light circuit, which I'm assuming wouldn't have done anything.

Any ideas?

Check the cruise control cable at the throttle body and fuses.

Its your fuse in your fuse panel inside the truck...

I've done that twice... I hooked blue interior neons to my dome light wire under the dash and blew the fuse on accident...

check your brake lamp fuse...i forgot exactly which one..check them all though...the fuse block at the driver door when you open it

its a pain in the ass..but get some pliers and pull ALL your fuses...so you can check to see what else might be blown!

I didnt find the fuse when I did this the first time...the GM shop found the blown
fuse....but the 2nd time, it was another fuse that I'd found..

the first time though...we did the EXACT same project lol....(mine are blue...and hooked up to a toggle switch now haha)

I second that, had the same problem a few times, ended up being a different fuse each time, one was my 3rd brake light stopped working, ended up making my CC to stop working at the same time, the others I can't remember but all 3 times the CC stopped working because of another problem!
Yank out ALL your fuses, every single one of them in all the fuse boxes your truck has, it took the dealership 1 solid hour to diagnose it until they did that very thing!

My brake lamp switch was bad according to the dealer. Either that or a fuse somewhere. Most of the time everyone finds out its a fuse, hopefully you'll be that lucky.

i pulled all fuses and they are all good. i'm thinking it's the switch, because the 2 'stop' fuses on the side of the dash aren't getting any power when i hit the brake pedal.

Have you checked the brake light bulbs? I've had both burn out on a rig before, checked and tore apart everything else before I finally caved into my dad saying "check the bulbs!"!
Also, do you have a third brake light and is it still working? Also, have you tried the cruise control and does it still work? The CC is linked to the brake lights!
