Ok, the wife took the kon(01/5.3l) to drop my daughter off at a party. she called and said she can't turn the steering wheel to the left. Ironically i have notice for a while now that when i start her up and turn the wheel to the left while in park or sometimes barely backing up it seems hard to turn. I go to switch cars and then i couldn't turn it to the left or right now. Made it home but absolutely no power steering what so ever. Any way to pin point the problem. My guess and from what i have searched on the forum......steering asssit control, gear box(i hope not), power steering pump, ISS. Am i missing anything? Checked fluid and it's fine. I have noticed a few times while turning left in a drive thru i hear a clicking sound. damn, damn, damn.:emotions122:

Double checked the fluid and it is not reading full. I can only hope that this is the problem but i doubt it. Going to walmart now.

Added PS fluid last night. driven over 20 mi so far and still no power steering. I'm thinking it's the ISS. Is there a way to tell if this is the problem? Is this a part I can get at a auto parts store?

We had already taken the PS pump off. Got the rebuilt pump put on last night and everything seems to be fine.
