Good morning!

So. I am requesting the help of the gurus on the forum for an issue I have with my 99 yukon. I was driving yesterday and the darn thing decided to just die
No power to the dash but power to the radio and door locks and windows and blah blah blah. I do not hear the fuel pump at all. The gear selector lights up just fine, no cluster check when I turn on the key, no security light, no key ding (when you initially turn the ignition to the on position), nothing. The thing will crank but not start. Checked the battery terminals, cherry, check for power to the fuse box, cherry, I am guessing ignition switch? And how does that work with the security system. And I can't find a diagram on line that shows what wires are for what on that switch.

What do ya guys think?

BTW... it's my only car so I kinda gotta get thus right without throwing parts at it. Lol

Thanks guys!

Test the orange, pink, brown and white wires for output when switch is in the on position. if the gauges don't work then like the pink will show nothing. if so and the to red inputs into the switch are actively hot then the switch is bad.

I checked that last night. The two hots are hot. The pink is no power when in the on position but gets power when cranking.

The yellow should only be on during cranking as it is your starter. The pink has to stay on from the off position all the way to start as it feed your transmission system. So it sounds like you definitely found a bad ignition switch.

Need to clarify the white from switch runs tranny. It turns pink after fuse. The pink out of switch runs the ignition feed to pcm and powered sensors. Still means you have a busted switch tho as you describe the results from test.
