We have a 2003 tahoe and about a year ago our instrument cluster went out I have scoured the internet looking for a way to get power to it. The only thing that lights up is the engine check light. Is there any way to get the information off the cluster like the mileage on the engine or any way to repair it without going to the dealership or a shop? was told that we would have to replace it but the dealership said that they the mileage from it but we don't know it. Is there a tool that plugs into the OBDII reader to read that info????

Yes, higher end scan tools will pull the odometer reading through the OBD.

The Check engine light or "MIL" malfunction indication lamp is on its own circuit. Here is a copy of the wiring diagram for our cluster. Have you checked the fuses yet?

You say the only thing that lights up is the Check engine light. Does that mean the gauges work or anything else functional other than the CEL?
