Hey Everyone at TYF.

I finally decided to post and introduce myself on this forum as I've been lurking around for a couple months and reading a lot of good info on here. I have made the jump to the GM world for the first time in my life ever! I've owned nothing by Fords (don't bash me) and decided it was time to upgrade a Sport Trac and picked up a 2007 Avalanche LTZ earlier this summer and loving it. The intention was that this is my daily driver and I don't mod a driver, but unfortunately I'm the type of guy that can't leave something stock. With the help of this site I have already done quite a bit of mods. The truck has been great and I'm happy with my jump from the oval to the bowtie.

(if you look closely.. the top picture already shows a Volant Super Tip and a RC level kit on the front.. it is more recent. the bottom picture was the next day after I purchased it)

and I didn't really make a complete switch to GM as I still have this toy in the garage and the Avalanche pulls it on a trailer.

Welcome! Avy's lookin clean. What are your plans for it?

Felix, believe it or not I spotted your truck on the Chevy Avalanche Forum and I loved it. I love the stance, the wheel/tire package and everything you done to it. Made me also regret not getting a black one. I have to say that is one bad ass AVY you have.

I posted a thread in the Avalanche section with the stuff I have done to it so far with a bunch of pictures.

http://tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45336

But so far we have done this:
So far the complete mod list is:
-Body color matched Bow Ties
-Repaired steering wheel trim with oem replacements
-Front windows tinted 30% by zTech in Naperville, IL
-Custom painted engine cover
-Nav map updated to 2011 (I know it's technically not a mod)
-Weather Tech front and rear mats
-Volant Super Tips (with resonator delete)
-Rough Country Leveling Kit
-Z71 oem skid plates (coating with POR15)

Future plans
-Airaid MIT tube with oilless filter
-Moroso air/oil separator
-Auxiliary Oem/GM trans cooler

Thanks!! Haha that's awesome man. Yea I'm a member there too but you will find that this forum is much more active! I just found your thread and read all of it. Looks like you're off to a great start. I have the same Volant tips and love them. It makes the exhaust sound so much better too.

I see you plan on adding a trans cooler. Are you aware your truck has a trans cooler built into the radiator? Do you mean you are adding the auxiliary trans cooler that sits in front of the radiator? If you want an engine oil cooler I'd add that at the same time since it requires swapping radiators and you'll be working in that vicinity anyways.

Btw, welcome.

Yup it was actually your truck that made me start looking for those tips. I think I PM'ed you on that forum asking you what tips were those then figured it out. I found them on eBay for a really good price and actually have two of them! (never know.. I may in the future upgrade to a Tahoe or a newer 10+ Avalanche...so my 2nd pair is on a shelf).

You are right, there is more activity on this form. I noticed that myself.

I meant the auxiliary trans cooler that sits in front of the radiator. I corrected the list. I noticed my trans temps were hitting 205-210 this some in some of the city highway traffic driving. This was in city traffic only. But then again, it was an insanely hot summer. Now that it's fall and cooler weather outside I'm not worried about it so much. However it will be definitely something I do before summer of next year.

That is hot. While Chicago had that heatwave, along with the rest of the country, I used my Tahoe to tow my wife's car from Chesapeake, Virginia to Chicago during our move. Truck was loaded down, and had a pack on the roof. Estimating total weight with passengers near 12,000 lbs. I had the auxiliary trans cooler too. Even with all this, climbing over the Appalachians with cruise set between 70 and 80, depending on speed limit, temps rarely got that high. Do it and you'll see a huge temperature drop. My temp difference just in city driving was around 30°. I hope you have small hands for the install. When dealing with the lines and transmission you will need patience. The install can be done with the truck sitting in the driveway. Just be sure it is cold before you start. You will be working near exhaust. Front bumper removal is required.
