Sorry Im new and couldn't find the info I need in a search... I have a 98 Tahoe with a bad 246 tcase I purchased a used 246 from a 99 Tahoe that was being parted out. The id plates match and they look the same except the output yoke from the 99 is just like a flat flange instead of the ujoint style that my 98 has I know the yokes slide out but wondering if anyone knows if the splines are the same?
Also the 99 shift motor only has the single plug with pigtail its likea 5 pole plug I think as the shift motor on my 98 has a 4 pole plug with pigtail but it also has a I think 6 pole plug that plugs directly into the motor... will the motor from my 98 fit the other case?

Thanks in advance for any input

On other transfer cases the yokes slide out and can be swapped. There are some differences among models and applications but they generally swap.

Yeah I pulled the yoke off the new case and attempted to pull the one from my case but it was seized in (rubber boot missing) and didn't have enough time to mess with it... Im planning on pulling the case this weekend just trying to make sure this new one will work for me in advance cause I cant have the Tahoe down for very long
