My YUKON still has the original Universal Joints (injected Nylon) or the entire driveshafts were replaced with OEMs? One of them has a clunking noise and I want to replace them, I saw videos that use a LP torch to melt the Nylon to replace them (universal Joints) is this a good idea? Will héating the yokes weaken them? Or am I better off buying new GM driveshafts with the UV joints already installed? I will be towing a heavy Camper and want want as little trouble as possible! This is one of the few brain farts the GM engineers did making a UV joint repair in a parking lot or the side of the road a nightmare! What happened to bolts and Bering caps? What were they thinking?
