I've worked through a small handful of nitpicks on my Denali.

One thing I haven't ever mentioned on here, that was a nuisance to me, was a decent wind noise around 45+. It was the last little thing that bugged me about my truck.

Well I figured out what it is by accident last night. I usually keep my HVAC in recirculate mode. Last night, I turned that off trying to hear the wind noise better and when I turned it off - the noise went completely away and the truck was quiet as a mouse. Turn recirculate back on and the noise comes right back. Makes perfect sense. I had traced the noise down to the lower right corner of windshield/dash area, which is exactly where that recirculate door is.

Now the confusing thing for me - when recirculate is on, the fresh air duct is closed. That is when my noise happens. I would think the wind noise would go away when I closed that door and recirculated the air.

Any thoughts? I am going to drop the glove box and do some exploring on it.

Just curious how many guys with wind noise complaints has my same issue.

Is this the buffering sound everyone is referring to? Like a rear window is down?

I dont think this is going to be related to that. However, if anyone can duplicate that buffering noise, try toggling recirculate on and off and see what happens.

This is just a minor wind noise from the RF at highway speeds. Sounds like a window is cracked or a door isnt closed all the way = just a minor whistling noise.

Interesting find. I'll have to check that out. Could make sense...with the recirculate door closed, the cabin becomes a more tightly closed space. The cabin struggles to balance air pressure. If the recirculate door isn't perfectly tight, it could create the whistling noise as it attempts to balance air pressure through the almost-sealed door.

I had a whistling noise above 45mph that drove me crazy. I traced it to the outside mirrors. I could hear it with and without the windows open. If I placed my hand under the mirror stem, the noise went away. I bought some adhesive body molding and applied it to the underside of the outside mirrors. Changed the airflow and the sound went away. Showed it to my dealer. They took pics for future reference.

Ever since fixing the mirror noise, my vehicle is as quiet as can be. What a huge upgrade over the 2006 I had before.

Solid theory.

Interesting. Fortunately I haven't experienced any of these issues or maybe I just haven't noticed yet.
