I have recently experienced an unidentifiable warning light on the sash of the '06 Z71 Tahoe. I can't get it to repeat so I can get an image. However, the symbole look svery much like the TPOM symbole, with the side view of the tire, except, instead of the TPM symbol, there are the letters TC, with a crossed circle. I can't find that symbol in the owners manual so I don't know what I am supposed to do. I also have gotten the Service 4WD message on the info center. When the symbol is lit, and the message is on, none of the lights on the 4WD select buttons is lit. The vehicle drives normally. Interestingly enough, I noticed also that when I take the gas cap off and replac eit tightly, the symbol and message go away. So, can someone tell me what the TC symbol is and what I am supposed to do?

What now?

Okay, thanks for that. Is it a schedule or timer thing at so many miles, etc? Is it an indication of a malfunction of some kind? Will it throw a code to check? IOW, how do I get rid of it? Will I have to do 4WD Service to get it to go away?

It should only come on when the traction control system comes on... like if you spin your tires or something.

If you're just making a slow turn or normal driving and it comes on, it's a malfunction

Problem solved. It was the Transfer Case Shift Motor that went bad. Put new part on, no codes, no warnings. Shifts between 2WD and 4WD very smoothly and quickly now.

Thanks for all your help.
