oh I have a 2000 tahoe. Me and my husband replace the fuel pump when it went out which was about 4 months back and since then we have had to replace the fuel filter like 3 times. and everytime we replace the filter it starts up without a problem. the last time we replaced it was like a week and half ago. can anyone suggest why the filter keeps going out so fast or is it something that we are over looking ? please someone shed some light on my problem

Do you have an old body style 2000 or new body style 2000 (square or round) what engine do you have and how many miles?

I wonder if you are now picking up all the crap from the bottom of the tank now that you changed the pump.

Check the bottom of the tank first, just like everyone one else said. You may be picking up dirt and junk from the bottom of the tank.

After you clean everything out of the tank, Go fill er' up and run sea-foam through it to clean all the dirt deposits, and junk in the fuel lines and injectors!

Check the fuel pump that was installed...
Was it installed properly? Is the seal properly seated?...if not dirt could get in.

Your fuel filter is not the problem.
