Happy leap year day. I IMG_20200229_121204.jpg thank everyone in advance for any ideas. I am leaking oil onto the bash plate that sits below the transfer case. it is wet where bolts up to the cross member as well. The oil is like motor oil, brownish color, or gear oil. it is not blue auto track fluid. It is not my front diff because I have royal purple in it. It's pretty far from the motor so don't know how motor oil would be there because it's not streaking from anywhere that I can see. is there possibly an overflow tube somewhere that leads to this area? I'm just not seeing it.

What you might think is motor oil because of the color could be some other fluid mixed with the dirt on the plate. Check the related fluid levels, clean and dry the area off and drive to see where the new wet spot is.

take a good look at the t case, bet you find a crack in it. if under the truck body is also wet that can be from the crack leaking and the wind from being at speed sprays it.

I see what you're getting at. The oil is actually golden brown translucent like motor oil or gear oil. What I meant by brown is not dirty brown as in to mix up the blue auto track or oil purple stuff with dirt. At one point in its life I could have sworn I saw a drain hose hanging down between the drive shaft that goes from the transfer case to the front diff and the ABS module. Since I got the transmission replaced I don't see that hose anymore. I have to wait for it to cool down to claim underneath and start poking around. The exhaust is right there so hard to really get my arms around there. Thanks

Yeah I took a look at the transfer case visually. I see no blue streaking. Last night when I looked at it cold, I did undo the fill bolt for the transfer case and had plenty of auto track fluid. That's all I got to last night then had to go to work today so waiting for it to cool down to do a more thorough inspection as per pnwvietvet
