1997 Tahoe 2 door with a 5.7 and 140K miles.
Just recently started getting a check gauges light and noticed my oil pressure gauge had dropped to zero.
Thinking its the oil pressure sender verus the oil pump or the gauge itself(cheaper easier repair than an oil pump and since this truck has an EASY life, it shard to believe the oil pump is shot)
Looking for the correct PN for the sender.
I'm getting conflicting data from"trusted" sources so I figured I'd ask the gurus here.

Is AC Delco 19244500 the correct part for this application if not what is?
Thanks in advance

unknown at this time.
yes but i would stick a pressure gauge on it first. if you don't see pressure within 5 seconds of starting shut it down and replace you pump/oil and filter. assuming the oil level is correct with no leaks.

Thanks Sunlit,
Pressure comes up perfectly on start-up, oil level is good; gauge reads fine/responds as expected 99.9% of the time
Will randomly drop out to zero after running/heating up and coming to idle.
When I go to accelerate, pressure will start to climb then drop out to zero, then read correctly for a good long time.
Thinking sender or gauge versus the pump itself.
Funny thing is I had replaced that sender about 18 months ago with an AC Delco one while chasing down another gauge issue.

ok but if it happens again consider looking at a bad connection.

I reached back there this morning when engine was cold and pressed down on connector. Will monitor for the next few days before going on for a new sender.
Thanks Sunlit
