oil pressure PSI?

Where is your oil pressure PSI at on idle ?? well asking because mine started ticking alil bit only on idle when i press on the gas the ticking goes away... my oil psi sit at around 35 psi at idle is that normal?? someone told no that i might need a new oil pump what do you guys think?

What David said is normal. Aluminum engines like the LC9 may be a little lower. The factory gauge is purposely designed to move slowly so as not to alarm people. Use a scan tool for the exact reading.

The others have you covered about your pressure numbers.

The ticking may not even be oil-related. Exhaust leaks sound very much like a lifter tick but they usually get louder under throttle. A spun bearing, piston slap, cracked flywheel, internal transmission component(s) etc. can all make ticking sounds that vary with RPM or load. Injectors can get noisy, too, and they certainly change sound with RPM.

Invest in a mechanic's stethoscope. Harbor Freight has them for under $5. They can be fun AND useful.
