OIL presure low stop engine!

Yesterday while driving my Tahoe 2007 LS back wheel drive I got this message. I stoped turned it off and checked engine oil, it was fine, then i started and the oil light and warning went off. But i noticed the oil pressure going up and down with my accelaration of the SUV. Help on possible couses or steps to take?

Oil filter? Something is holding up the oil flow somewhere

The oil pressure goes up/down with acceleration normally.

But he shouldn't get a low oil pressure warning... what is it at at idle and what was it at when you got the message? When was the last oil/filter change?

Yea you def. should not be having that warning, if I were you I would not drive the truck with that light on until you find out the cause.
My relative drove with a low amount of oil and trashed a Charger R/T engine, $13,000 fix.

Unless your getting any knocking or rattling not to worry, oil pressure sending unit is going bad. Cheap part but hard to get to, located on valley cover behind intake.

Sorry to hear about the problems you are having. I see that the light turned off once you shut the vehicle down and restarted. Vehicles now days are like computers and need to be “rebooted” sometimes. If the light is not on at this time, it may have just been a fluke. If it returns, I would suggest taking it in to have the dealer look at it. It is possible that it could be something covered under the powertrain warranty. Please let me know if you continue to have problems with this.

I had the exact same thing happen to me about a month ago. It was intermittent, but I took it into the dealer fully expecting a faulty sensor and they told me that it wasn't the sensor, it was a plugged oil filter... I was pretty skeptical, but they changed the oil and filter and it has been fine ever since. I've since spoken to some other mechanic friends and a few of them have said that they have seen that before.

Take it in, or if you change your own oil then change it. Make sure you use a good name filter (Goodwrench, Fram etc.)
