I was ready to buy a Roku player with composite outputs to play Netflix on the entertainment rear screen but wanted to try an old Iphone first.
I have an old Iphone 3GS that's been laying around for years. Decided to buy a 30pin to composite cable ($8 from ebay). Tried the cable but Netflix would not display on the screen. It would only display recorded videos and Youtube if played in Safari. After some research I had to Jailbreak the 3GS 6.1.6 and install "Display out". This worked! It mirrors the iphone now. Works great for Netflix! The video quality is ok. The Movies on my thumb drive have a better video quality but this will do for the kids on the road trips!

Nicely done. I see your screen on the dash has video too. Did you do that yourself? I saw a thread on here about making video in motion work.

It's showing on the dash because it's in "park". I'm planing on getting the video on the dash while in motion upgrade. IMO the Google map is far superior than the navigation that is built in this vehicle. The other day I put in a destination and the GM navigation could not identify the address but Google did. Also the routes mapped out from google seem to be better.
The other thing is the LTE wifi... my kids with their tablets gobble up the free 3gigs in 3 weeks. 2 tablets running Netflix in HD did it!

I bet. 3 gigs isn't all that much these days. I like the idea of video in motion but not sure how much I'd actually use it. I think the idea of it is better than the actual ability.

All the things we do for our kids..., years later when they grow up - they will make fun of us doing this :) Great job!
