Ive had these 12" pioneer premiere shallow mount subs for about 5 years now. Had them in my reg cab and transferred them into the hoe when i got it. Last night on the way home it started sounding like a bass pedal hitting a plastic bag. Looked at it today and theres a nice hole blasted into it. Now ive gotta figure out what i wanna get next cus the other one looks like its on its last leg.

Heres where i need input. This is the amp i have
NewTruckPics025.jpg
Heres the crutchfield specs:
mono subwoofer amplifier
500 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms (850 watts x 1 at 2 ohms)
variable low-pass filter (50-200 Hz at 24 dB per octave)
variable bass boost (0-18 dB at 40 Hz )
subsonic filter (15/25 Hz, 18 dB/octave )

Im planning on making a new box out of the stock location, most likely with fiberglass just for a nice little project. What sub do you guys think i should go with that would work best with that amp. I mainly listen to metal so id like something with good quality for the double bass drums but from time to time i enjoy some dubstep to rattle the truck a little. Ive heard alot of good stuff about sundown audio but dont know enough about subs to make a solid decision.

Any input is greatly appreciated, i know theres alot of audio guru's that could help me find what i need.

If purchasing just one sub id like to spend like $200 or less.... if theres other options for a little more i might be up for it.

The way I always tune, is i turn it up to the loudest I would listen and adjust the the LPF and the HPF until I'm happy with the sound. Basically just play with the settings.

Don't know if that's the proper way to do it but that my .02

Tracy thanks for the heads up but i already ordered an ssd12 that rosh recommended. Plan on glass'n the sub into the factory sub location and making the cargo area as free as possible. Much appreciated though.
