I think very few people retain their OnStar after the trial period. Hence, GM has started to make it "mandatory" on new rigs. For a period of time it was added to your option list and you couldn't remove it. That received a lot of backlash, so they increased the MSRP and then added it to the standard features list.Do many of you actually renew Onstar? If I recall, it is almost $50 a month for the top plan. I have a phone and great Garmin GPS. I doubt I will renew when my "free" trial expires.

I’ve renewed it every year since 2004. Now, on vehicles up to 2013 they really only had the safety and security plan. I always was able to negotiate an annual plan for that for about $120-130. For $10 a month, it was worth it to me to get auto crash response if my wife and kids were ever in an accident.Do many of you actually renew Onstar?
