I recently purchased a 11 Tahoe LTZ in Mocha Steel Metallic. I am visualizing two different routes to take:

1. Go Chrome. Remove the Gold bow ties on the front grille and rear and replace them with chrome ones. This would match the door handles, wheels and grille. Maybe purchase a one piece mesh grille in chrome down the line and upgrade my wheels from the stock chrome rims.

2. Go black. Remove the gold bow ties and replace them with black ones. Replace the stock chrome grille with a black one or a one piece mesh black grille. Remove the chrome door handles and go black. Smoke out the head and tail lights and eventually upgrade to black rims.

Happy Friday :party33:

I am not a "chrome" type guy. I do really like it in moderation, but not all out.

Here is a guy with some decent wheels though.....http://chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php?topic=129840.0

I really don't like the gold bowties on ANY color. If I was you I would just start PlastiDiping what ever you deem that you want to be "black".

If you hate it, peel it off... If you like it.... Paint it black.

Nice color truck.;)

That's a beautiful LTZ you got there, imo it'd be a shame to start de-chroming it.

The best look for the bowties is to colormatch the gold part to the truck and keeping the little chrome surround. Upgrading to chrome 22s would also complement the look of the truck.

Not that black tones won't look good against mocha steel, but you're in for a lot more modding to revert to that look from an LTZ base. Plus you basically would have paid extra for an LTZ only to pay even more to bring LT elements back into it.

I think you either go all chrome or no chrome. The best looks are clean and uniform with the same style all over.
